Novels

The journey of a writer is always interesting. Starts out with great enthusiasm and a few steps into it, the usual blocks get in the way. But there’s a beauty in it I see or have come to realize. That journey is no different from life.

Oftentimes we live through life with some great motivations at some points and at other times, when the story of our life doesn’t unfold like we expect, we find ourselves blocked or what we call, stuck.

This the first time, hence first space I wish to share the first drafts of my first stories, lol (I wanted to do a thing with firsting everything hehe) but what I mean to say is, I’ve had to suffer a number of writers’ blocks with these however, I still wish to share the results of those experiences with you. So as you read, I won’t mind you pulling out your red pens or green ones to underline anything you spot in there. Just take it as traveling on this writers journey with me, experiencing all the highs and lows that come with it.

I’m content as is, that you’ve chosen to stick with me after all this, knowing about my possible dirty laundry. I do hope that through this journey, you get to find some characters in here you can laugh with, cry with or even fight for. Who knows? I could be writing about you πŸ˜‰

Love Vayolet.

Book One: The Sun In The Mirror

I got the inspiration to write this story one morning during my visit at my elder sister’s home. She, my nieces and I shared a lovely breakfast round the kitchen counter and that was when I saw it.

A beautiful sun shining in all its brilliance as it sent streaks of its light through the kitchen glass windows. My mind could only think of God’s love shining through us as if we were the glass. And what better way to behold Him than through the Mirror of His Word.

To be frank, the characters of this book aren’t saints at all, yet, I still thought they are perfect vessels to shine God’s love regardless. Day or night, the love of God would still shine brighter than any good we’d ever do or any bad no matter how dark.

Take a moment to skim through the excerpt of this book and be fired up to meet your new friends in the next few chapters!

I see a beauty, parallel to none
A reflection, which cannot be undone
I wait to see a face on the surface
Suffice to say, a face other than mine
But my wait is to no avail
Because the me I see, is a me without a veil

Refreshing read. I don’t know how I’ll survive a whole week because the suspense is swallowing me whole. But as Jesus lives, I’ll patiently wait.

I’m so engrossed with Shasha. Like I’m really curious.

Book Two: Frozen in time

(Coming soon)

I have learned by experience that there are things not worth looking back at.
It is better to be stuck where He wants me than burn where I’d rather be.

EDITH – lOT’S WIFE

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I would be the first to review this book. I got this book at a time I felt stuck. As if I was merely breathing and existing and one morning during this season, I thought of the one character who was known to get stuck for ages- Lot’s wife. Not much is said of her but I bet there’s so much we can pick from her. Don’t rule her out as a bad nut yet.
