Blogpost: The Best Lie

Life is not always sunflowers and roses. We’d have the thorns too but thank God for Jesus- He made a crown out of them!

The best lie I ever told was the one I said through a smile. The one I hid with the bright windows of my eyes so you wouldn’t see what was really going on behind the closed doors of my heart.

I had gotten too used to the version of myself people saw from afar that, I felt the pressure to look strong even if I wasn’t feeling strong. Using the principle of faith where I had lost it would yield no results but at least it’d stop others from reading me with a red pen in hand.

The best lie I ever told was the one I said in the context of truth. I told a huge chunk of lies and sprinkled a little toppings of truth and my story made it to the News feed- capturing the lady of the moment or the hour or whatever time my story was leased out for. At least I could rest easy knowing I wouldn’t be diagnosed on that platform. The hospital was for diagnosis so I knew better to not step there.

I made friends with a masked lady called Denial. Sounds pretty much like Delilah but I think they’d both share the same opinion when asked to choose between who they really are and who they’d rather be. There are many who would rather be anything other than what they are and their lives become the best lies you’d ever see.

But may I remind you that there’s a person whose word can pierce through every bone and marrow, dividing the soul and spirit and discerning the thoughts and intents of the heart. So come out of the darkness of lies into His light and when you do, you don’t have to put on a mask or have the right words to say. Keep your eyes on Him and watch Him shine away the fears and struggles you feel within.
